We’ve moved a lot, as you all know. He went to elementary school in Georgia (Hi Keheley!), middle school in Pennsylvania, and high school in Texas. It’s hard at first, but they eventually find their people. The move to Texas was especially rough, going into a HUGE high school in 9th grade with no connections; but I told him this was where he’d find his small group of forever friends.
The “squad” found each other during their shared lunch period in 10th grade. Sean, Buddy, Grant and Ryan (last picture). They’ve played sports together and have had the typical high school ups and downs. Things they’ll laugh about with their own kids someday and their parents will bring up as a reminder of what they put us through 😉
Aidan has come to think of Texas as his home, and they’re all going to college within driving distance of our town. I know they’ll make new college friends, but I also know this core group of really good kids will always stay in touch.
